Petite Sirloin with Blueberry Balsamic Sauce

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Petite Sirloin
  • 1 teaspoon Olive Oil
  • 2 large Garlic Cloves, Finely Minced
  • 1/4 large Sweet Onion, Diced
  • 6 tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 2 cups Blue Berries, Fresh

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat grill to medium high. Spray lightly with cooking spray. Add steaks and cook about 2 minutes then rotate 90 degrees. This will give them nice criss cut grill marks. Flip steaks over and repeat the process. This should give you a medium rare steak. You can add a couple minutes to each side for a less rare finish. 2. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and onion and cook, stirring until softened, about five minutes. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well combined. Increase heat and bring mixture to a low boil then cook another five minutes. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer about 20 minutes. Keep an eye on the sauce so it doesn't reduce too quickly and burn. 3. Remove cover. Using the back of a wooden spoon mash blueberries against the side of the pan to release juices. Increase heat to medium and cook until sauce reaches your preferred thickness, about 6 to 8 minutes. Strain if desired and serve with steak.
